Barcelona fans shocked once again with its loss from Atletico Madrid from its Super Cup semifinals match

Another great display of performance by Barca from their Super Cup match yet once again blew their lead right away just a few minutes away for the game to end conceding two goals for Atletico Madrid to grab the victory.

It was the top strikers Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann that gave Barcelona the two goals needed, yet it wasn’t enough for Barca in getting the outcome they wanted in the end, with the penalty kick scored by Alvaro Morata for Atletico Madrid equalizing the scoreboard, suddenly five minutes right after was Angel Correa’s goal that sealed them the victory to face Real Madrid at the Super Cup finals.

Reports from Yahoo sports have a lot of questioning towards Barcelona’s Ernesto Valverde about their blowout loss as if he’s running out of time in handling the group. Valverde’s name was defended from such acquisition by Messi and others stating, “It’s normal that when you lose and don’t reach your objectives, and when our fans see that the team is not playing like they would like, that people talk and say things, We have to be more united than ever, remain a strong group and get through this.” Messi said. “This year will we try to play like we did today and not commit childish errors like those we committed today.” He added.

Luis Suarez also added his say for Valverde in regards to their defeat from Atletico Madrid, “This loss shows we have room to improve,” he said. “It shows us that there are mistakes that we can’t make because we were in charge of the game and we let them mount counterattacks. But the coach is not at fault; they were mistakes that we made.”

A slightly additional highlight from their matchup against Atletico Madrid was a heated conversation between Lionel Messi and Joao Felix from the half time, as the labeled “new Ronaldo” got a pointed finger straightened to his face by Barcelona defender Jordi Alba.

Barcelona’s next match to prepare for would be against Granada to be played at their camp.
