Ryan Giggs’ Welsh national football team declares their final friendlies matchup before the start of the Euro 2020 group stage would be against Netherlands to be held on June 6; just a week before the group stage fixtures takes place where they’ll face Switzerland in Baku.
Wales would travel to Rotterham paying a visit to Netherlands making it his last opportunity to test his current squad before playing at the group stage, as the two friendlies before facing Netherlands would start this coming last week of March against Austria on the 27th and USA on the 30th.
Netherlands is part of group C from the euro 2020 group stage, wherein facing them at warm-up friendlies would allow them to familiarize their opponent as an advantage in the future fixtures.
From the records, Wales have completely lost all of their eight fixtures against Netherlands across all competitions, including the biggest 7-1 defeat from the World Cup in 1996.
With the unpleasing look from their past games against their upcoming matchup with Netherlands, Giggs said, “You want to test yourself against good teams. It’s about preparing yourself as best you can and making sure that players get minutes, get ready for that first game.”
