Wales announced 26-men squad for Euro 2020

Wales interim manager Robert Page has named his squad for the this summer Euro 2020 football matches, with Aaron Ramsey, Ben Davies, Chris Gunter, Danny Ward, Joe Allen, Jonny Williams and Gareth Bale, who played at EURO 2016, are all included in the squad. Swansea City’s Connor Roberts and Ben Cabango are in, while uncapped Rubin Colwill is arguably the biggest surprise called-up in the squad.

In 2019, needed a win to qualify for back-to-back Euros, Ryan Giggs’ Wales completed the team qualified for the Euro 2020 through the group games. They secured the 2-0 win at the Cardiff City Stadium with two goals from Aaron Ramsey. This will be the second time Wales will be in a major tournament after they reached the semifinals in 2016 in their first major tournament in 58 years.

There was no place however for Derby County’s 23-time capped Tom Lawrence, Luton Town’s Tom Lockyer who has 12 Wales appearances, or Stoke City’s Rabbi Matondo, who were all a part of the 28-man training squad in Portugal. “It’s not easy. I’ve had to make some tough decisions today. There’s some disappointed people leaving the camp, which isn’t easy,” Page said.
